Snippets: Bill wants colour!
No subtle, calming pastel shades for my client Bill - he wants bright! So I've suggested a selection of vibrant, intensely coloured, insect friendly flowers for his garden. Many of these have open petals so pollen and nectar are easy to reach - the ideal takeaway meal for busy bees.
As a nod to the bees I've suggested a hexagonal planter as a centre piece to the garden to reflect the perfect hexagons that bees create in their honeycomb. There's also a hexagonal set of stones around the garden so that Bill can get in amongst his plants for watering and tweaking.
This is not a large garden at all but to me that makes it all the more important to make the most of your outside space. For Bill that means plants that produce a riot of colour and a place to sit down and relax at the end of a hard day at work. And lets not forget the bees!
